Bio - President / Director Samuel Kariuki
I was born and grew up in central Kenya facing challenges like any other child in our village. Accessing education, medical health, clean water and sanitation, shelter, food and nutrition and livelihoods skills were a challenge. This challenge bothered my heart and pushed me to dream for a better future. My Dream came true when I immigrated to the USA, Glory Be to God Almighty.
In 2002 I formed a Kenyan nongovernment organization called F.O.C.U.S. (Families, Orphans, Children Under Stress). This was formed as a response to the social and economic challenges faced by families, youth, children and communities at large with an overriding interest in HIV/AIDS and its social economic impact. We have made much progress in Kenya with the building of an orphanage in Ruiru, and programs to help the children there.
In 2016 I formed a US-based non-profit organization called FOCUS Dream Center. This was done to support the work of the original FOCUS center in Ruiru, Kenya. and to increase our ability to help more children in Kenya.
I am a Pastor, currently with Liberty Church in Shrewsbury, MA.
